About the event
Our Blood Saves Lives
Group blood donation session for people of Black heritage.
250 donations are needed every day to treat sickle cell.
It is better to have ethnically matched blood, to help reduce the risk of developing antibodies.
50% of black people have a special rare subtype called Ro.
Because most people in the UK who have sickle cell are black, we need more black people with the Ro subtype, to help secure a match.
