EMA confirms suspension of sickle cell disease medicine - Oxbryta
According to the European's Medicines Agency's  Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) , a higher rate of death and disease complications in recent trials means benefit-risk balance no longer favourable. T he CHMP opinion will now be forwarded to the European Commission, which will issue a final legally binding decision applicable in all EU Member States. Chronic pain, fatigue, health complications, frequent blood transfusions and long hospital stays can leave people feeling anxious, low or isolated.
